I recently stayed at Ratagan Youth in Shiel Bridge for 4 nights and had a fantastic experience. The location was magnificent, with breathtaking views of Loch Duich and the surrounding mountains. The hostel was spotlessly clean and the staff, especially Bartoz, were incredibly helpful and friendly. I also loved the presence of the little birds that made the hostel their home. The common rooms were spacious and well-equipped, and I enjoyed meeting other friendly guests. Highly recommend this hostel for its stunning location and welcoming atmosphere.
Do recommend this hotel.

The hostel had a stunning location with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and loch. The remote and quiet atmosphere was perfect for a peaceful getaway. The big kitchen was well equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. there were some fantastic hiking trails nearby for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy.
One major downside was the limited accessibility without a car. The hostel was located quite far from the bus station, making it difficult to get around without a vehicle.

We had an amazing stay at Ratagan Youth! the location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of a huge lake and layered mountains right in front of the hostel. the hostel itself has a cozy mountain hut vibe, with a clean, big shared kitchen and comfortable bunk beds. the staff and other guests were friendly, and we enjoyed hanging out in the spacious and comfy common room. It's the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Isle of Skye, and we highly recommend chatting with the mountaineers there for great advice and conversation. Plus, the value for the price is outstanding!
No issues 😊.

Best Loch Views and Immaculate Facilities! Spent Christmas in a charming hostel that offered amazing views of Loch Duich. The serene environment was perfect for a relaxing holiday, that allowed us to connect with nature. The common bathroom was clean, smelt good, and we experienced no queues and disturbance from other guests. the hostel is strategically situated just near the loch, offering easy access to other popular destinations such as Eilean Donnan Castle and Skye Island.
Worst Sleeping Conditions. However, the downside was the noise that came from the shared dorms- really if you know you snore, why not take a private room?

Although the rooms are functional, some bathrooms lack privacy, but the facilities are very functional and clean.

We had a fantastic stay at this mountain hut style hostel. The location on the shore of Loch Duich provided us with breathtaking sunrises and stunning mountain views right in front of us. The service and housekeeping were top-notch, ensuring that the hostel was always spotlessly clean and comfortable. We were delighted to find that pet amenities were available, making this place a great option for those traveling with furry friends. The heating in our room was excellent, keeping us cozy during our entire stay. We also loved the shared kitchen, which was well-equipped and kept clean by all guests. The carpeted floor added an extra touch of comfort, and the dining area provided a pleasant space to enjoy our meals. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We also appreciated the leisure garden area and the leisure/TV room, perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking or enjoying some board games with fellow guests. The fact that there was free Wi-Fi in public areas and free parking made our stay even more convenient.
We highly recommend this hotel to friends.
